Alice Mollon

Alice Mollon is a French illustrator based in London. I really enjoy this piece for many reasons. A lot of negative space but yet it's not a bland illustration. This piece can be interpreted in many different ways and I really think pieces like that are important. This differs from my others because there isn't a straightforward message, it's not about magazines or makeup. This piece has its own beauty, immediately I see a paintbrush, but it then guides your eyes down to the bristles that become what looks like the hair of a lady. Does it mean art is beautiful similar to a lady's beauty, does it mean she wraps herself up in her work, or does it mean we make our own beauty? I think its really up to the viewer which is why a piece like this is important.
