 Flat book cover design: Why do all the summer novels have the same look? (slate.com)

This one is different because it is book covers. Consistent with the other flat designs I have selected, these book covers all consist of minimalistic typography, a minimal amount of vibrant colors, and basic shapes. Each book cover encompasses what flat design is, but each of them do it in a very different way. On the cover of the book titled I Take You, the designer has a very unique approach. They use the background color and incorporate it into her clothing without the use of outline or contour lines.
