This piece to me is a phenomenal take on flat design. This follows all of the principles I discussed before:

  • 1. Bright colors: although minimalistic, it uses bright colors
  • 2. Simple shapes: Instead of complex or realistic images, the flat design uses simple two-dimensional vector art to depict objects.
  • 3. Minimal textures: Flat design avoids complexity in textures like drop shadows or gradients.

Although it remains minimalistic I would not say its simplistic. The colors, the overlapping, and the dimensionality it conveys is wonderful. From first glance you think its one thing and the more you look at it you see a new scene or new things you didn’t see before. Malika favre is doing it right in the flat design industry.
