The Butterfly effect by Malika Favre

1.  How and why is it relevant to your theme/style?

This piece by Malika Favre is relevant to my theme and style in many ways. The style of art I selected is Flat graphic design. Flat graphic design is a minimalist and modern form of design that really started in 2010. This piece is a flat design that utilizes minimal color (4 colors to be specific). The colors are neutrals and the design is clean and not busy allowing the negative space to be left empty. I like this piece mainly because of how drawn I am to magazines, photography, beauty, etc. It's important to me that I keep a connection between what I love about it and what I find in my research and overall I am drawn to magazine covers and photoshoots. This piece was used for the New Yorker as the front cover in 2018.
